Job Duties
- Supervises student technicians, assigns workload, ensures adherence to safety and quality standards, and supports training and professional development.
- Prepares solid models to input into various CAM systems depending on part requirements.
- Affords assistance with DFM process by providing component level input regarding manufacturability and material selection.
- Performs solid modeling of fixturing and workholding components.
- Counsels assembly, routing, and testing of control and power circuits and hydraulic and pneumatic circuits for various subsystems.
- Affords assistance with metal additive manufacturing process by providing inputs regarding manufacturability and material selection.
- Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position.
Requirements
- Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering or related field or equivalent military/work experience.
- 36 months of machine tool operation including programming and workholding concepts.
- 24 months of electrical and/or mechanical experience including assembly, integration, and troubleshooting.
Qualifications
- Understanding of additive manufacturing, especially metal-related.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs including Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Work, etc.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks.
- Proficiency in machining operations, cutter geometries based on materials, orders of operations, and concepts.
- Proficiency reading and understanding mechanical diagrams and schematics.
