Manual Machinist / Machine Shop Lead

We’re working with a well-established manufacturing company in the Kent, OH area that is looking to bring on a high-level Manual Machinist or Shop Lead. This is a key hire for their team, and they are open to someone who can either step in as a strong individual contributor or take on a leadership role within the shop. This opportunity is ideal for someone who takes pride in precision work, can operate across multiple machines, and enjoys being hands-on while helping guide others on the floor.

Responsibilities

• Operating manual mills, lathes, and other shop equipment for precision machining work
• Setting up and running jobs independently with minimal supervision
• Working from blueprints and tight tolerances
• Troubleshooting machining issues and making necessary adjustments
• Supporting or leading shop personnel depending on experience level

Requirements

• Strong background in manual machining (mills, lathes, grinders, etc.)
• Ability to run multiple machines and handle varied work
• Experience reading and interpreting blueprints and schematics
• Solid understanding of machining practices, tooling, and materials
• Leadership experience is a plus (or interest in stepping into a lead role)
