Responsibilities
- Identify problems and make necessary adjustments related to industrial AC/DC electric motors and generators.
- Use a variety of manual machine tools and balancing equipment for rotating machinery, while following service center safety procedures.
- Operate manual machining tools, including engine lathes, horizontal lathes, milling machines, grinders, drilling machines, and related equipment.
- Safely use overhead, gantry cranes, and left trucks, and associate with lift rigging.
- Perform mechanical measurements using portable mechanical instruments such as dial indicators, micrometers, and portable vibration measurement equipment.
Qualifications
- 3 or more years of experience as a machinist for electric motor repair preferred.
- Ability to read micrometer measuring equipment.
- Ability to operate manual lathes of various sizes and dimensions.
- Ability to operate electroplating equipment.
- Ability to perform basic math functions.
- Ability to understand, perform, and retain various job-related training, operational, and safety procedures.
- Ability to work overtime and weekends as required.
