About the role

We are looking for an experienced manager to lead our accounting department, oversee a professional team, and work on complex projects for diverse clients. This role offers the opportunity to apply both your technical and managerial skills, develop your own team, and actively contribute to solving challenging client issues within Kreston Slovakia. You will collaborate with experts across advisory areas, manage the accounting department, and participate in projects with a real impact on our clients' businesses.

Responsibilities

• Comprehensive management of the accounting department, including client administration and development
• Professional leadership of the team, planning development activities
• Evaluating the performance of team members in the accounting department
• Strategic communication with clients, developing client relationships, and collaborating with partners to set department goals
• Selection and implementation of digital tools, modernization, and process development within the accounting department
• Group reporting
• Support for internal accounting, financial controlling of the group, and expense planning
• Collaboration with tax, audit, and legal departments on cross-functional projects, particularly in M&A

Requirements

• Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in accounting management with strong managerial skills, including delegation and performance monitoring
• High level of expertise in audit and double-entry accounting
• Strong financial analysis skills
• Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously
• Systematic approach to team management
• Ability to set priorities and manage deadlines with excellent time management
• Organizational and managerial skills

• Responsible work ethic and excellent communication skills
• Master’s degree (II. degree) in economics, finance, or accounting
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and Office 365
• Driver’s license (B category)

Qualifications

• Certifications such as ACCA and IFRS are an advantage
• Previous experience in a similar role or in financial management, reporting, and controlling, as well as collaboration with auditors during statutory audits (consolidations) is a plus
• Experience working in an international environment or in consulting with active use of a foreign language is advantageous
• Language skills:
  • English – Intermediate (B2)
  • German – Pre-intermediate (B1)
  • Slovak – Advanced (C1)
