About the role
The Project Office of the Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry of the Czech Academy of Sciences (IOCB Prague) is seeking a systematic, proactive, and communicative individual with strategic thinking and an interest in science for the position of Project Manager. This role supports researchers in preparing project proposals for targeted funding and identifying research funding opportunities for scientific colleagues within the institution.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate the preparation of project proposals
- Assist in writing project proposals and preparing budgets
- Hand over supported projects to the project implementation department
- Identify opportunities for submitting projects
- Collaborate in the field of life sciences
- Provide information services for scientific staff
- Participate in training sessions, workshops, and information days about research grants
- Support applicants in methodology and rules of respective grant providers
- Communicate with project partners and grant providers
- Collaborate with economic and legal departments
Requirements
- University degree in a natural science field
- Strategic thinking and ability to connect information from various sources
- Ability to continuously learn new skills, from budget preparation to creative writing
- Proactive approach, organizational skills, strong communication, and negotiation abilities with researchers and providers
- Proficiency in English (B2 level or higher, both written and spoken)
- Responsibility, reliability, loyalty, independence, and attention to detail
- Positive attitude, teamwork orientation, and stress resilience
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a similar role or with preparing project proposals
- Familiarity with the science and research environment
- Previous experience in research and personal projects

Pay
Starting salary: 50,000 – 58,000 CZK (based on education, experience, and skills)
Schedule
Full-time position. Contract: permanent employment after an initial one-year probation period. Start date: immediately or by agreement.
