The Temporary Managing Strategist position is available in Authentic's Paid Media department for the current election cycle. The term ends on November 28, 2026. Authentic is a digital agency focusing on fundraising, advertising, online organizing, and more.
Responsibilities
- Act as the advertising lead for significant clients, collaborating with client leads, managers, and other departments to develop advertising strategies.
- Manage employees within the department and contribute to improving the department. This includes conducting reviews, being responsible for employees' development, making recommendations about raises/promotions, discipline, etc.
- Lead on setting best practices for ad copy and developing innovative advertising strategies for clients. Brainstorm and develop creative ideas for clients, write, fact-check, and proofread content.
- Ensure all content aligns with the authentic and honest voice of the client, and each program is unique to each client.
- Set up and track ads and advertising spend in various platforms like Facebook Ads Manager, Google Ads, Switchboard, Scale to Win, and others as needed.
- Optimize digital ads in advertising platforms and report on results.
- Contribute to a collaborative culture that enhances our work product.
- Produce professional memos and maintain internal and external reporting.
- Work with designers, email strategists, and vendor partners to meet client needs.
- Lead on client communications, producing professional reports and memos.
- Respond to breaking news stories by assisting in drafting ads.
- Brainstorm creative ideas for clients, fact check, and proofread content before it goes out from a client.
- Stay updated on digital trends and new tools to provide cutting-edge recommendations to clients based on best practices.
- Perform other duties as needed.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of issues and passion for electing Democratic candidates and advancing the progressive movement.
- Experience executing large-scale digital advertising programs for campaigns and causes.
- Deep knowledge of advertising platforms like Facebook and Google Ads, texting platforms like Switchboard, and CRMs like NGP and ActionKit.
- Ability to plan and execute advertising campaigns for clients, including regular campaign tracking and in-platform optimizing.
- Demonstrated experience of creating and setting strategy for a client.
- Proven effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience and/or training in managing and/or mentoring.
- Proven ability to handle multiple tasks, work well under pressure, and meet tight deadlines.
- Extensive experience in client management, copywriting, and digital ad campaigns.
- Proficient computer skills and familiarity with Google Sheets/Microsoft Excel and the necessary attention to detail that comes with it.
- Able to work extended hours when needed/for rapid response moments.
- Eager to learn and self-educate.

About the Role
This is a management-level position that pays a fixed starting salary of $90,000 annually, per our company’s transparent employee compensation. Benefits include 100% employer-covered health insurance, 401K with employer contribution, flexible vacation and sick leave, and more.
