Managing Editor

About the role

The Wyanoke Group/Healio/Audience is seeking a dynamic Managing Editor to oversee daily content production, collaborate with key opinion leaders, and deliver timely, meaningful news to their Gastroenterology and Hepatology audience.

Responsibilities

• Assign and edit daily news content for online posting
• Build/maintain strong relationships and collaborate with key opinion leaders
• Track audience analytics to inform content strategy and improve engagement
• Select and edit content for monthly print issues
• Collaborate with production teams on print issue layout/review
• Lead writers, freelancers and contributors to maintain high editorial standards
• Provide clear guidance, feedback and support to ensure timely content delivery
• Coordinate real-time reporting, interviews and post-conference content

Requirements

• 5 years of hands-on experience in news writing and/or editing, ideally in health care or medical publishing
• Strong writing and editing skills, with a keen eye for accuracy, clarity and clinical relevance
• Prioritize multitasking and meeting tight deadlines
• Desire to work in a fast-paced news environment with a dedicated team of writers and editors
• Willingness to work occasional weekends and travel for coverage of major medical conferences and events
• Proven experience with publication planning
• Experience with health care communications
• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English, Communications or related field
• Familiarity with search engine optimization (SEO) and web analytics tools

• Annual base salary range: $56,000 to $66,000

Schedule

Employees living within a 50-mile radius of the office will be scheduled to work two days per week at our office in Thorofare, NJ.
