About the role
We’re looking for a high-ownership, relationship-driven Editor who loves people, storytelling, community, and execution. This is not a sit-behind-a-screen writing job. This role requires someone who enjoys being in the community, building relationships with business owners and local leaders, leading content creation, and making sure every issue is executed with excellence.
Responsibilities
- Lead editorial planning for two monthly publications
- Source compelling local stories, businesses, nonprofits, families, and community leaders
- Conduct interviews and develop feature stories
- Coordinate photo shoots and visual storytelling
- Manage freelance writers, photographers, and contributors
- Own editorial deadlines and production schedules
- Collaborate with team on monthly editorial strategy
- Ensure every issue reflects premium brand standards
Requirements
- Must live within 20 miles of Kingwood / Lake Houston
- Must be available for local meetings, interviews, photo shoots, and community events
- Strong writing and editing ability
- Comfortable with Google Workspace, project management tools, and digital communication platforms
Qualifications
