About the role
We are seeking a Managing Director to lead the operations of a specialty minerals processing facility. This role offers significant scope to shape strategy, optimize performance, and build a high-performing organization.
Responsibilities
- Lead and scale processing operations across production, technical, and commercial functions
- Establish and drive operational performance metrics, reliability, and efficiency improvements
- Drive financial performance with full P&L accountability, including revenue optimization, cost control, and capital efficiency
- Own supply chain strategy, procurement, and working capital management
- Establish and embed HSE culture and compliance across all operations
- Develop and execute organizational strategy, including talent acquisition, development, and succession planning
- Manage stakeholder relationships including customers, suppliers, regulators, and the board
- Lead continuous improvement and operational transformation initiatives
- Drive sustainability and responsible sourcing initiatives aligned with company values
- Manage stakeholder relationships and navigate complex commercial and regulatory environments
- Identify and implement value creation opportunities across the business
- Lead operational strategy aligned with company growth objectives
Requirements
- Degree in Mining Engineering, Mineral Processing Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering or related field
- 15+ years of operational and commercial leadership experience
- Alignment with values of responsible resource development and the energy transition
- Direct experience in specialty mineral or chemical processing (vanadium, uranium, nickel, cobalt, ferroalloys, or similar)
- Deep familiarity with hydrometallurgical or pyrometallurgical processing environments
- Proven capability in complex, technical operational settings
- Track record of scaling or transforming operations
- Commercial acumen in commodity, specialty chemicals, or advanced materials sectors
- Ability to travel as required and maintain on-site operational presence
