An established, entrepreneurial financial services firm focused on capital markets and institutional advisory services is seeking an experienced capital markets professional to reinvigorate and build out its debt and equity capital markets practice. This opportunity is ideal for candidates ranging from high-performing Senior Associates or junior VPs ready for the next step, to senior bankers or group leaders looking to lead the practice. The role offers autonomy, direct exposure to production, and a highly flexible, negotiable compensation structure tailored to your track record and risk appetite.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and grow the firm’s debt and equity capital markets practice, advising institutional clients on financing solutions including debt and equity capital markets, IPOs, follow-on offerings, PIPEs, and private placements.
  • Originate, build, and maintain senior-level relationships with institutional clients and issuers, driving business development and marketing initiatives.
  • Lead day-to-day execution of transactions, including preparing and reviewing marketing materials, financial models, coordinating due diligence, analyzing financing alternatives, and negotiating documentation.
  • Monitor client, industry, and regulatory developments that could affect client needs.
  • Partner closely with the Compliance team to ensure all activity meets applicable rules, regulations, and internal policies.
  • Provide in-person, relationship-led client coverage rather than relying primarily on email or phone outreach.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five years of capital markets, debt or equity origination, or investment banking experience, or a bachelor’s degree paired with directly relevant transaction experience.
  • Demonstrated transaction experience across public offerings, private placements, or broader capital markets execution (M&A experience will also be considered).
  • An existing network of institutional relationships and a demonstrated ability to originate business independently.
  • Comfortable operating with a high degree of autonomy in an entrepreneurial, limited-supervision environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a high comfort level engaging senior executives.
  • Willingness and ability to travel approximately 25 percent of the time for client meetings and industry conferences.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States; this role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Series 79 (Series 62/82 may be considered) and Series 63 licenses, or the ability to obtain them shortly after start.
  • Sector coverage expertise, for example financial institutions, utilities, or healthcare, within a capital markets context.
  • Experience in an established banking or advisory platform, with the ability to transition into a more senior, practice-leading role.
  • A track record of building or scaling a business line or desk from an earlier stage.
  • A team-oriented style suited to a smaller, collaborative platform without a large existing peer network to lean on.

Benefits

  • Base salary: $150,000 to $230,000 per year, commensurate with experience and seniority. Compensation is flexible and negotiable based on experience, production, and individual preferences (e.g., lower base salary in exchange for higher variable incentive).
  • 401(k) plan.
  • Health care coverage.
  • Paid time off (PTO).
  • Hybrid working model, with optional shared office space available.
