About the role

The Managing Consultant is part of a highly collaborative team responsible for building strong partnerships with market consultant candidates and clients through new and existing business development. In Korn Ferry’s Interim HR consulting practice, you will connect the right people to the right work by building deep, meaningful relationships with senior HR and business leaders. Acting as a trusted advisor, you will help clients solve complex problems and align meaningful work that expands consultants’ careers. This role contributes to Korn Ferry’s integrated solutions sales strategy and offers a lucrative opportunity tied to personal financial growth within a collaborative, dynamic team.

Responsibilities

  • Grow Korn Ferry’s Interim HR Talent Practice as a member of the team.
  • Build and manage a book of business.
  • Drive business development efforts aligned with the firm’s vision and objectives.
  • Work with client hiring managers to scope interim and project needs, including responsibilities, requirements, and company culture.
  • Develop and manage strong business relationships with clients to ensure successful placements and customer satisfaction.
  • Drive new business with existing clients and prospects by collaborating with Korn Ferry business unit partners.
  • Interview, source, and represent current and prospective consultants in opportunities that enhance their career objectives.
  • Maintain strong professional relationships with candidates by providing superior candidate care, including defining engagement requirements, timely updates, interview preparation, and debriefing.
  • Collaborate with Project Coordinators to ensure timely scheduling of interviews, database compliance, and engagement-related correspondence.
  • Identify and leverage new consultant candidate sourcing avenues.
  • Provide project updates to management, client contacts, and stakeholders, and escalate issues promptly.
  • Consistently meet and exceed sales goals and objectives.
  • Leverage analytical thinking and an open mindset to communicate new ideas and strategies.
  • Work in a team-oriented environment while acting in an independent, leadership capacity.
  • Collaborate with Business Development Directors to create brand awareness and growth.
  • Join professional networking organizations to represent Korn Ferry in the community.
  • Exude leadership and professionalism in all situations.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of business experience, with a minimum of 8 years in Human Resources, an HR-related field, or as a business development manager (including cold calling, developing search strategies, and client/candidate management).
  • A proven track record in leadership, sales, and recruiting in the local marketplace is a plus.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to quickly learn about different business environments and cultures.
  • Consultative mindset with the ability to anticipate client needs.
  • Exceptional communication skills to engage with employees at all levels, clients, and the public as a representative of Korn Ferry.
  • Customer service focus with attention to producing quality results.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage various recruitment projects simultaneously.
  • Self-initiative and responsiveness to client requests.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and handle project leadership responsibilities as needed.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism and incorporating fun into the team culture.
  • Willingness and ability to adapt to new processes and effectively deal with change.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree preferred.
