Manager, Weather Response Shelter

About the Role

The Weather Response Shelter Manager will implement the day-to-day management and oversight of shelter operations. The shelters operate based on weather events, such as extreme cold temperatures or Winter Contingency, so operations will be spontaneous and temporary. This position provides leadership, direction, and administrative oversight in advancing and supporting Aspire's mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities. This is a grant-funded position requiring flexibility, including mandatory overnight shifts on days the shelter is active.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage day-to-day shelter operations during weather-related activations.
• Provide leadership, direction, and administrative oversight to support Aspire’s mission and strategic priorities.
• Respond appropriately and effectively in crisis situations using good judgment and following Aspire protocols.
• Work independently and collaboratively within a team setting.
• Engage with the targeted population and connect individuals to community resources.
• Maintain strict confidentiality and handle highly sensitive information professionally.
• Work flexible hours, including overnight shifts during shelter activations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university with two (2) years of related experience; OR an Associate's Degree with three (3) years of related experience; OR a high school diploma or equivalent with at least five (5) years of related experience.
• One (1) year of experience leading a team.
• Healthcare and/or non-profit experience, with a solid understanding of the behavioral health field preferred.

• Ability to work outside the standard 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, 40-hour work week, including overnight shifts.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and flexibility in a fast-paced environment.
• Valid driver’s license, current automobile insurance, and a driving record that meets organizational guidelines.
• Reliable transportation to transport self/others and attend trainings or meetings.
