Manager, Virtual Construction - Hydronics

About the role

The role provides vision, oversight, direction, and leadership to the Hydronic Virtual Construction team through shared vision and clear communication that holds everyone accountable to company goals. The position oversees all operational aspects of the assigned Virtual Construction team and facilitates the workforce and resources needed to ensure each project is constructed safely and following design, quality, budget, and schedule requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee Hydronic Virtual Construction leadership and detailers in your assigned area to ensure standards and processes are aligned to achieve consistent predictable outputs that are in line with company goals and standards.
  • Foster a support mentality within the group such that everything done within the Virtual Construction team is to facilitate a more efficient installation of the project at a higher level of quality than if the project hadn’t utilized the Virtual Construction team.
  • Direct and manage the day-to-day operations of the Virtual Construction team, including resource management, project assignments, and execution strategies.
  • Resolve issues, challenges, and obstacles within the team and coordinate with other departments to ensure project timelines and budgets are met.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable building and mechanical codes and execute QA/QC protocols.
  • Evaluate and advise on means and methods of continuous improvement within the Virtual Construction group to increase efficiency, improve quality, and lower operating costs.
  • Coordinate with the Construction Technology, Engineering, and Construction Operations leadership teams to identify areas of improvement and support optimal collaboration across the company.
  • Work closely with the Training team to develop and deploy training materials necessary for the growth and development of the Virtual Construction team.
  • Provide input to the Operations Manager and Sales Leadership on resource availability and project labor budgeting.
  • Advise on modifications and enhancements to the company's BIM execution plan and SOP to support the most efficient fabrication and installation possible.
  • Monitor and advise on quality control measures to ensure high-quality output at or above industry standards.
  • Prepare for and attend project pursuit interviews/presentations as needed.

Requirements

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to think analytically and critically about issues.
  • Leadership experience, including supervising a complex team.
  • Experience working with, leading others in, and collaborating on improvements to technology and business processes.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience working with, leading others in, and collaborating on improvements to technology and business processes.
  • Experience with the various business and corporate software technologies ACCO utilizes.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
  • Skilled in reading and interpreting plans and specifications.

Qualifications

Pay

Pay range is in line with the corresponding area CBA agreement.

Schedule

Travel: 10-25% of the time to and from the primary office to regional branch offices.
