Responsibilities
- Oversees office services during construction for the client that will be performed from an on-site field office.
- Provides technical reviews of the project deliverables.
- Trouble-shoots design issues that arise during construction.
- Proactively manages Client expectations and assures client satisfaction related to project.
- Performs on-site field visits with clients and contractors as needed to resolve field conflicts.
- Attends on-site weekly construction meetings.
- Mentors of junior technical staff as required.
- Responsible for project quality.
- Affirms QA/QC processes are completed on each project.
- Leads conversations on client’s behalf with Contractor to resolve conflicts, answer questions, and enforce contract documents.
- Understands and enforces contract documents.
- Leads project controls and documentation of project submittals, invoices, RFIS, etc.
- Responds to RFIs within requirements of contract documents.
- Works with design team to ensure design intent is achieved during construction.
- Works with design team ensuring ability to provide adequate constructability (construction sequencing, scheduling, etc.).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or closely-related field with 8+ years’ experience working with MEP projects.
- Ability to understand and interpret contract documents such as specifications, drawings, and shop drawings.
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, Sharepoint sites, and Bluebeam Revu.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Engineer License in the state of Virginia.
- Past experience with Wastewater treatment plants.
- Preferably in the City of Richmond.
- Experience managing all phases of construction work on multiple contracts simultaneously as well as project management of complex water, wastewater, and stormwater facilities.
