Responsibilities

  • Oversees office services during construction for the client that will be performed from an on-site field office.
  • Provides technical reviews of the project deliverables.
  • Trouble-shoots design issues that arise during construction.
  • Proactively manages Client expectations and assures client satisfaction related to project.
  • Performs on-site field visits with clients and contractors as needed to resolve field conflicts.
  • Attends on-site weekly construction meetings.
  • Mentors of junior technical staff as required.
  • Responsible for project quality.
  • Affirms QA/QC processes are completed on each project.
  • Leads conversations on client’s behalf with Contractor to resolve conflicts, answer questions, and enforce contract documents.
  • Understands and enforces contract documents.
  • Leads project controls and documentation of project submittals, invoices, RFIS, etc.
  • Responds to RFIs within requirements of contract documents.
  • Works with design team to ensure design intent is achieved during construction.
  • Works with design team ensuring ability to provide adequate constructability (construction sequencing, scheduling, etc.).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or closely-related field with 8+ years’ experience working with MEP projects.
  • Ability to understand and interpret contract documents such as specifications, drawings, and shop drawings.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, Sharepoint sites, and Bluebeam Revu.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer License in the state of Virginia.
  • Past experience with Wastewater treatment plants.
  • Preferably in the City of Richmond.
  • Experience managing all phases of construction work on multiple contracts simultaneously as well as project management of complex water, wastewater, and stormwater facilities.
