Manager, Venue Planning & Operations
Position Summary
The Broadcast Integration (BRS) Team’s aim is to support the Olympic Broadcasting Service (OBS) in the preparation and planning of the most seamless, innovative, and engaging Games experience ever for their athletes, team officials, and delegation members. The BRS team is responsible for delivering high quality facilities and services to the Media Rights Holders and the Olympic Broadcasting Service to ensure the best possible media coverage of the Games to the widest possible audience. This team liaises closely with OBS to manage planning processes related to broadcasting the Olympic and Paralympic Games. This includes agreeing procedures, hosting meetings and workshops, conducting surveys – all of which are developed and established in full coordination with OBS and LA28 Broadcast Services. In addition, the Broadcast Services team is the main point of contact with the other LA28 functional areas concerning all broadcast matters. Such matters include the successful delivery of all infrastructure at competition venues and the International Broadcast Center to enable the coverage of the Games and the delivery of services to OBS and media rights holders to support their operations – such as accommodation, accreditation, transportation, information, technology, technical support, warehousing, permitting, medical services, and other services at Games time.
Reporting to the Senior Director of Broadcast Services, the Manager, In-Venue Broadcast Planning and Operations will support the Venue Operations team in liaising with the OBS and LA28 functional areas on all broadcast planning matters and ensuring that all requirements are met for the successful coverage of the Olympic and Paralympic Games. This role focuses on the planning and integration of OBS broadcast requirements into LA28 venues. Successful candidates will be comfortable working cross-functionally to communicate requirements for Games-time broadcasters and aligning internal stakeholders to integrate those requirements into venue design and operational plans. To progress planning, this role will collaborate across all internal departments, external stakeholders, partner entities, and consultants to enable and deliver all broadcast services to OBS and Games-time broadcasters in the lead up to the Games Period and throughout the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate Contact for OBS
Manage communications with OBS and its Production and Planning teams
Facilitate and support venue site surveys for OBS production teams and Media Right Holders
Liaise with OBS and the LA 28 functional Areas to address venues-related broadcast needs
Assist in planning and delivery of all World Broadcaster Meetings & Briefings
Manage the exchange of information and timely submission of deliverables to OBS
Support Media Rights Holders with their implementation plans, ensuring alignment with venue infrastructure - Understand, review and optimize all broadcast delivery requirements with OBS
Position Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of relevant industry experience, preferably with 7+ years of experience in broadcast production, management, coordination and operations for the sport or live event industry
- Experience working international broadcast organizations providing global coverage
- Experience working with a diverse range of stakeholders and proven success at building excellent working relationships
- Experience working across multiple functional areas

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- Available to work onsite in our Downtown Los Angeles-based office
- The majority of work will be conducted in an office setting, requiring extended periods of time using computers, phones, and other office equipment
- The LA28 office is an open floorplan working environment; employees must be able to work efficiently in an open cubicle environment
- Some travel may be required, both domestically and internationally
- Working hours may vary to accommodate different time zones in specific regions.
