Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manages assigned TRANSCAER grant projects, ensuring alignment with TRANSCAER annual goals, and the TRANSCAER Strategic Plan.
  • Oversee the coordination, logistics, and delivery of national training events, including managing partnerships with stakeholders such as industry partners, government agencies, and community organizations.
  • Prepares meeting slides for the National TRANSCAER Task Group Meetings in coordination with the Director, TOPs.
  • Prepares and submits content for grant proposals and reports.
  • Maintains grant budgets, expenditures, and deliverables to ensure transparency and accountability.
  • Represents TRANSCAER at national and regional events, conferences, and meetings, ensuring effective communication of the program’s goals and accomplishments.
  • Collaborates with internal teams (sales, marketing, customer service, training) to integrate CHEMTREC and TRANSCAER outreach initiatives.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with external partners including carriers, shippers, and government agencies.
  • Oversees the development of TRANSCAER today magazine, brochures, and factsheets with graphic designers.
  • Maintains financial performance of TRANSCAER programs and grants.
  • Prepares operational and financial reports for senior leadership, as well as resolves any audit findings.
  • Conducts regular evaluations of TRANSCAER training and outreach programs, using data from participant feedback, surveys, and industry trends to identify areas for improvement.
  • Coordinates with the Accounting Team to manage program codes, budgets, and expense tracking.
  • Identifies opportunities to expand TRANSCAER’s reach and impact.
  • Drafts communications for TRANSCAER including social media posts and training event flyers.
  • Manages external relationships with TRANSCAER Sponsors and Corporate Members including processing invoices and ensuring annual benefits for membership or sponsorship are fulfilled.
  • Serves as the liaison to TRANSCAER State Coordinators, local emergency responder agencies, railroads, and the communities being served in the United States.
  • Led the planning and execution of the annual TRANSCAER Awards program, managing the protocol documentation and facilitating coordination with the Awards Committee to ensure a successful recognition process.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Required: Three years of relevant experience.
  • Preferred: Experience in the development and delivery of hazardous materials, transportation or emergency response training.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with federal grant funding and/or 501(c)(3) nonprofit financial management.
  • Preferred: Experience in training event coordination and logistics (i.e. rentals, catering, shipping, registration, travel arrangement, scheduling).
  • Preferred: Experience in transportation, safety, or emergency response sectors.
