Manager - Trade Marketing
About the Role
MSC Cruises, the world’s third largest and most rapidly growing cruise line, is seeking a Trade Marketing Manager for its USA operations. This role will collaborate with the Sales leadership team to spearhead trade marketing programs, generating brand awareness, consideration, preference, and ultimately sales of MSC Cruises among Travel Partners. As the key liaison between Marketing and Sales, you will develop strategies, tools, and materials for Sales to service Travel Partners while building awareness and consideration of MSC Cruises across the Travel Agent community via trade events, communications, and media strategies.
This is a hybrid position requiring employees to work from the Miami office four days per week (Monday through Thursday), with the option to work remotely on Fridays.
Responsibilities
- Own all facets of day-to-day trade marketing efforts, including strategy, briefing, creative approvals, managing deadlines, and deployment.
- Partner with the internal media team and external media agency to develop and execute comprehensive integrated trade marketing plans that drive Travel Partner sales of the MSC Cruises brand.
- Align with Trade and Sales team members on Co-op trade media initiatives requiring marketing support.
- Work closely with the Director of Brand, Promotions, and Trade Marketing on strategy and content planning to drive Travel Partner sales.
- Develop a B2B content calendar and key messaging points in consultation with Sales leadership, the Director of Brand, Promotions, and Trade Marketing, and the CRM team.
- Work with Digital, CRM, and e-commerce teams to gain insights and understand Travel Agent engagement across various channels, shaping future strategies and tactics.
- Manage one direct report, the Trade Specialist, who supports day-to-day execution of trade marketing efforts and initiatives.
- Act as brand steward across all Sales and Trade marketing efforts.
- Gather Travel Partner feedback and insights via online surveys and ongoing input from the Sales team to optimize efforts and influence future strategies.
- Work with the Marketing team to develop product presentations, collateral, and other below-the-line (BTL) materials needed for Sales.
- Test new, innovative methods and initiatives to increase Travel Partner awareness, consideration, and engagement.
- Act as the central point person between U.S. Marketing, Global Marketing, and Sales leadership teams.
- Ensure Sales and Trade materials are maintained for accuracy.
- Work with Sales leadership to support Trade loyalty program and training tool needs.
- Provide competitive intelligence among cruise lines and other travel brands that drive trade preference.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field; MBA preferred.
- 5+ years of marketing experience, with a minimum of 3 years in the hospitality industry (travel and/or cruise preferred).
- Experience with B2B marketing.
- Results-oriented with strong attention to detail.
- Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage time and prioritize work autonomously.
- Proficient with Microsoft Products; Asana experience preferred.
- Analytical approach to decision-making and strong business acumen.
- Comfortable working in a cross-functional, multinational company.
