Manager, Technology Operations - Marketplace Risk
Position Summary
The Manager, Technology Operations supports Walmart Marketplace’s Seller Risk program by developing and implementing strategies for onboarding large, key, and strategic sellers. This role involves conducting underwriting assessments, communicating insights and recommendations, maintaining documentation, monitoring portfolio segments, and participating in special assignments.

- Conduct underwriting assessments of large, key, and strategic sellers focusing on identity, brand risk, marketplace business model assessment, and supply chain information.
- Communicate risk insights and recommendations effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Maintain up-to-date, accurate, and thorough documentation of audit trails, underwriting assessments, reports, methodologies, etc.
- Monitor portfolio segments and track seller performance to identify risks and opportunities.
- Stay current on industry trends and best practices to inform decision-making.
- Participate in special assignments and projects to support business initiatives.

Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced professional familiar with marketplace and/or payments risk, commercial and/or credit underwriting, and possessing strong business acumen and communication skills. The role requires a focus on identity, brand risk, and supply chain information during underwriting assessments.
Minimum Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in marketplace risk, fraud analysis, trust & safety, identity risk, payments risk, compliance operations, investigations, or related functions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to summarize complex issues clearly for cross-functional stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across teams in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field.
- Experience in eCommerce, online marketplaces, or similar environments with complex seller ecosystems.
- Experience in risk management and/or underwriting.
- Previous experience in the payments or banking industry.
- Ability to work independently and handle pressure effectively.
- Good business sense and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Tools & Skills
- Strong Excel/Sheets skills; ability to build repeatable monitoring views and operational reporting.
- SQL and/or BI tools for analysis and dashboarding; ability to partner with technical teams on instrumentation and automation.

Additional Compensation
The annual salary range for this position is $80,000.00 - $155,000.00 in Bentonville, AR and $104,000.00 - $202,000.00 in Sunnyvale, CA. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include: Stock.
