Manager, Technical Services

Responsibilities

• Manage a location or customer onsite related to the collection, storage, transportation and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials.
• Supervise and train all Technical Services employees to ensure all scheduled jobs are completed, while maintaining and adhering to established standards for safety and environmental procedures.
• Prioritize health and safety by adhering to policies, processes, and maintaining safe practices at all times.
• Ensure compliance with division of Federal and Corporate safety policies; conduct regular safety meetings and provide health and safety plans for job sites, designating personal protective equipment specifications for each job.
• Manage field projects, keeping customers informed of progress and addressing any technical questions.
• Provide regulatory information to customers and project managers, maintain records required by regulatory agencies, and keep customers informed of all pertinent regulations.
• Compile relevant technical aspects of projects into reporting and utilize technical knowledge to create proposals.
• Respond to customer inquiries by phone or in writing regarding waste approval, disposal and pricing; respond to new customer inquiries about Company and Technical Services.
• Provide technical assistance to Sales and attend sales calls as necessary.
• Prepare and approve billing, tracking internal and external costs.
• Supervise Technical Services employees and participate in hiring, performance evaluations, training and disciplinary actions.
• Take on additional duties as assigned to support the team and organization.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (required)
• Degree in chemistry, engineering, environmental science or other technical field (preferred)
• 3+ years of experience in hazardous waste management or environmental services (required)
