About the role
The Surgical Services Manager (SSM) ensures the delivery of safe, high-quality, and cost-effective patient care by leading competent staff within the unit. They optimize resource utilization to meet productivity and financial goals, collaborating effectively with administrative personnel, physicians, and team members to enhance communication and process improvements across the organization. The SSM actively participates in patient flow and bed management in partnership with the Staffing Office. They serve as leaders who inspire a shared vision, promote positive change, and model professional standards. The role involves providing mentorship, guidance, and recognition to staff, fostering a supportive environment that encourages leadership and accountability. The SSM is responsible for ensuring staff adherence to regulatory guidelines and clinical standards, aligning activities with the organization’s mission, values, and service standards.
Qualifications
- BSN or pursuing RN-MSN, with completion within 3 years
- Current RN license
- 3+ years of nursing experience, including at least 1 year in perioperative nursing
- Healthcare Provider card; perioperative certification preferred
- Strong communication and clinical skills, with a focus on patient care and team collaboration
- Leadership ability, mentorship skills, and proficiency in data assessment and decision-making
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree in Nursing or related field
- Management experience in perioperative services
