About the Role
Provides leadership and supervision for nursing and ancillary staff to ensure safe, high-quality, whole-person care that promotes patient independence. Maintains visibility on the unit and collaborates with healthcare team members to optimize clinical operations and patient satisfaction. Responsible for scheduling, coordinating daily activities, and supporting organizational goals.
Responsibilities
- Builds and maintains a skilled, high-performing team; recruits, evaluates, coaches, and disciplines staff as needed.
- Ensures compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards; monitors care outcomes and implements improvement strategies.
- Conducts daily rounds, communicates with physicians and staff to coordinate patient care, and addresses operational issues.
- Manages staffing needs, schedules, and throughput to facilitate timely patient care and discharge planning.
- Performs emergency preparedness reviews and maintains a safe environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in nursing required; master’s preferred.
- Valid RN licensure; ACLS and BLS certifications required.
- Preferred: five years' clinical experience, one year of leadership, and specialty certifications.
Skills
- Strong leadership, communication, and clinical judgment skills essential.
