Responsibilities
- Implement and monitor institutional and departmental goals and objectives for APPs that align with the strategic direction of the organization.
- Implement individual performance evaluations.
- Oversight of APP scheduling, Kronos payroll, and resource utilization in collaboration with surgical residencies.
- Participation in recruitment, interviewing, hiring processes for new APPs within management area.
- Ensuring timely credentialing and re-credentialing (including OPPE/FPPE) of the APPs by the Medical Staff Office in compliance with Medical Staff By-laws and Rules and Regulations.
- May manage multiple patients with varied critical illness.
- May first-assist in the OR.
- May conduct comprehensive physical assessments.
- May interpret diagnostic results.
- May write daily progress notes.
- May educate patients and families.
- May attend meetings.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant / Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Master’s program.
- Minimum 5 years clinical experience within Thoracic or Plastic Surgery.
- Demonstrated ability to positively interact with medical/nursing staff and other members of multidisciplinary team.
- Willingness to learn and demonstrate proficiency in invasive procedures.
