As a Manager Subcontracts 2, you’ll be a linchpin in missions of paramount importance, defining the art of the possible from day one. This hybrid position will be based at one of the following locations: Commerce, CA; Redondo Beach, CA; Goleta, CA; Oxnard, CA; San Diego, CA; or Hanover, MD.
The Subcontracts Manager leads a team of subcontract professionals in providing supply chain support for program proposal and execution requirements for the Mission Enabling Products Business Unit in the Intelligence Systems Division within the Space Systems sector. Responsibilities include support of the business unit’s performance, financial growth, and achievement of operational objectives through ownership of suppliers and subcontracts primarily within the Machining, Tooling, and Forgings commodities.
Responsibilities
- Manage a team of subcontract professionals.
- Responsible for total commodity performance for assigned suppliers and subcontracts including on-time delivery, cost reduction initiatives, and supplier sourcing and management.
- Responsible for the performance, development, and engagement of the commodity buying and subcontract team.
- Achieve KPI Target Goals within commodity including Supplier Performance Targets in Quality, Delivery, and Cost.
- Utilize continuous improvement tools in response to business issues.
- Drive supply chain strategies to improve supply chain agility including significant lead time reduction, cost savings, and improvements in supplier delivery performance.
- Apply Import/Export regulations such as ITAR, EAR, DDTC registration, etc.
- Apply security regulations concerning vendor visits or sharing information.
- Apply government contract requirements such as FAR, DFAR, ISO, NASA, CPSR, MMAS, DCAA, SOX, etc. to appropriate agreements.
- Support auditing processes such as DCAA, CPSR, internal, etc.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 8 years of experience in global supply chain, subcontracts, or contracts.
- 4+ years of experience as a lead or supervisor.
- Knowledge and experience with supply chain purchasing, policies, process, tools, regulations, and protocols.
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA and/or Supply Chain-related professional designation and a minimum of 5 years’ experience in defense or aerospace systems.
- Experience in DoD government contracting and commercial business industry and/or procurement administration.
- Experience in leading Proposal efforts across Subcontractors and Materials vendors.
- Experience purchasing or managing a diverse portfolio of programs, customers, and suppliers within the Machining, Forging, and Complex Tooling commodity.
- Working knowledge of NGC Global Supply Chain, Business Development, and/or Manufacturing/Operations.
Pay
Primary level salary range: $139,800.00 - $219,800.00. The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
