About the role

At Avis Budget Group, we are seeking a Strategic Business Manager within the Real Estate team. Reporting to the VP-Head of Real Estate, you will collaborate with key stakeholders to develop and execute high-impact strategic initiatives that align with our long-term objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders across the organization to identify, define, and execute high-impact strategic initiatives that align with the company's long-term objectives.
  • Identify opportunities to rethink operational approaches, streamline processes, and integrate technology or external expertise to enhance overall efficiency and data transparency.
  • Serve as a thought partner to senior leadership, providing insightful frameworks, tools, and recommendations that drive business growth and transformation.
  • Lead end-to-end project execution, overseeing everything from scoping and analysis to implementation and post-project measurement to ensure alignment with business goals.
  • Cook up cross-functional teams, removing obstacles and maintaining accountability throughout project lifecycles to ensure timely and effective delivery.
  • Build trusted relationships with key stakeholders, fostering collaboration and shared ownership of project outcomes, while ensuring alignment and engagement.
  • Lead change management efforts, securing buy-in from stakeholders and driving the successful adoption and execution of strategic initiatives across the organization.
  • Conduct in-depth data and financial analyses to identify high-priority opportunities, assess ROI, and provide data-backed recommendations that shape strategic direction.
  • Influence key decision-makers by presenting compelling, data-driven arguments to senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success and impact of strategic initiatives, continuously optimizing for improved results.
  • Deliver actionable insights based on data analysis to refine both operational and strategic outcomes, ensuring long-term success.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with strong work experience in strategy and a strong academic record is required; An advanced degree (MBA) is preferred.
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in roles such as management consulting, corporate finance, corporate development, data analytics, or strategy, demonstrating a track record of success in these areas.
  • Strong quantitative skills with a proven ability to deconstruct complex problems through data analysis and craft compelling, data-driven narratives to support decision-making.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and PowerPoint, with a working knowledge of SQL queries and Tableau or similar data visualization tools.
  • Experience with Claude or other AI development and visualization tools is a major plus.
  • Familiarity with lease administration, site selection, and market data analysis is a plus.
  • Proven experience in leading cross-functional projects, managing competing priorities, and delivering results in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences including C-Suite level executives.
  • A proactive, curious learner with a passion for tackling challenging problems and working effectively in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with individuals at all levels of the organization, fostering a positive and productive team dynamic.

Qualifications

  • You need to be a self-starter, comfortable navigating ambiguity, with a demonstrated ability to apply creative and pragmatic analytical approaches when ideal data may not be readily available.

Pay

The annual starting salary for this position is between $100,000 - $140,000 annually. Factors that may affect starting pay within this range include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
