About the role

A growing organization is seeking a highly analytical and technology-oriented finance professional to support strategic planning, financial analysis, and operational improvement initiatives across the business. This role will combine FP&A with strategic project work, using financial and operational data to improve pricing, inventory management, purchasing, working capital, profitability, and overall business performance. The ideal candidate will enjoy solving complex business problems, developing financial models and analytics, and partnering with leadership to translate data into actionable recommendations. This individual will also play an important role in enhancing forecasting, reporting, and decision-making capabilities as the organization continues to scale.

Responsibilities

  • Own the forecasting and financial planning process across revenue, gross margin, operating expenses, EBITDA, cash flow, and other critical business metrics.
  • Build and maintain sophisticated financial models, scenario analyses, and business cases to support strategic decisions, resource allocation, and investment priorities.
  • Evaluate pricing, customer and product profitability, sales results, and variable costs to uncover opportunities for margin expansion and improved commercial performance.
  • Collaborate closely with sales and business leadership to assess pricing strategies, bid opportunities, deal economics, and profitability.
  • Create analytical models and decision-support tools to improve inventory planning, purchasing, safety-stock requirements, product availability, and inventory turns.
  • Assess supplier and purchasing strategies to identify cost-reduction opportunities while balancing inventory needs, service levels, and cash requirements.
  • Strengthen working-capital management through detailed analysis and forecasting of inventory, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and cash flow.
  • Track actual performance against budgets and forecasts, identify the underlying business drivers, and provide actionable recommendations to mitigate risks and capture opportunities.
  • Design executive dashboards, KPI reporting, and business intelligence solutions that provide clear visibility into sales, profitability, inventory, working capital, cash flow, customer economics, and operational performance.
  • Analyze sales trends across customers, products, territories, and other business segments to identify performance gaps, emerging trends, and potential growth opportunities.
  • Develop financial models and return-on-investment analyses to support capital expenditure and investment decisions.
  • Provide financial and operational support for strategic projects, process improvement initiatives, acquisitions, due diligence, and post-acquisition integration.
  • Work cross-functionally with leaders throughout the organization to strengthen planning, improve accountability, and embed data-driven decision-making into business processes.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage automation, artificial intelligence, business intelligence platforms, and emerging technologies to enhance forecasting, reporting, analytics, and overall workflow efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or another quantitative or analytical discipline required.
  • At least 5 years of progressive experience in FP&A, strategic finance, corporate finance, financial analysis, management consulting, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of leading analytical projects involving pricing, inventory, procurement, working capital, profitability, or operational improvement.
  • Strong capabilities in financial modeling, forecasting, budgeting, scenario planning, and business performance analysis.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Power Query, PivotTables, advanced formulas, and analysis of large and complex data sets.
  • Experience building executive-level dashboards, KPI reporting, management reports, and analytical tools.
  • Ability to convert complex financial and operational information into concise, actionable insights and recommendations for senior executives.
  • Strong commercial and operational understanding, including the key drivers of revenue, gross margin, profitability, cash generation, and working capital.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP platforms; NetSuite experience is a plus.
  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or comparable business intelligence and visualization platforms preferred.
  • Knowledge of SQL or other data analytics tools is advantageous.
  • Experience in an inventory-intensive, multi-site, or operationally complex business environment is preferred.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, influencing, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Highly analytical, proactive, and intellectually curious, with the ability to identify business issues independently, develop practical solutions, and effectively manage competing priorities.
