About the role

The Manager of Strategic Finance will lead Golden Hippo’s strategic finance function and serve as a key cross-functional business partner across the company. This role owns strategic analysis and decision support across brands and functions, partnering with business leaders to drive and optimize profitable growth, and also support the broader planning process. The ideal candidate combines strong financial modeling skills with business acumen, clear communication and an ability to influence cross-functional decision making in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Responsibilities

  • Build, maintain and evolve detailed financial and operating models, including scenario and sensitivity analyses.
  • Analyze unit and customer cohort economics (CAC, LTV, margins, retention) and identify levers to improve profitability.
  • Partner closely with FP&A, Marketing, Brand and Operations leaders to support strategic initiatives.
  • Provide decision support on product launches, offer performance, marketing investments, pricing and channel strategies.
  • Oversee periodic reviews of brand and offer performance across the Golden Hippo portfolio.
  • Collaborate with accounting, data analytics and operations teams to strengthen financial systems and processes.
  • Build and mentor a small team over time, elevating financial modeling and strategic analysis capabilities.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of DTC and subscription economics (CAC, LTV, churn, retention, margins).
  • Exceptional financial modeling and analytical skills.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate business strategy into financial implications.
  • Excellent communicator and storyteller – able to simplify complex data into clear insights.
  • Working familiarity with FP&A tooling and reporting systems (e.g. NetSuite, Rill, Tableau, etc.).
  • Collaborative, adaptable and comfortable working in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
  • Bachelors Degree.
  • 5+ years relevant experience.
  • MBA with focus in Finance or Strategy (preferred).

Pay

The base salary range is $112,000 - $140,000, plus annual & monthly KPI bonus potential. The posted salary range reflects data based on California's cost of labor analysis and is subject to change per state.

Location: Hybrid (Woodland Hills, CA)
