About the role

The Special Olympics Center for Inclusive Health is seeking a dynamic and passionate individual to join our team as a Health and Wellness Specialist. This position will support the development and implementation of health and wellness programs that promote inclusivity and improve the overall health outcomes of individuals with intellectual disabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement health and wellness programs tailored to the needs of individuals with intellectual disabilities.
  • Collaborate with medical professionals, therapists, and other stakeholders to ensure the quality and effectiveness of health and wellness initiatives.
  • Conduct outreach and education sessions to raise awareness about health and wellness topics among community members.
  • Monitor and evaluate program outcomes to inform continuous improvement efforts.
  • Represent the organization at local, regional, and national events to build partnerships and increase visibility.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in public health, healthcare administration, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in health promotion, public health, or a similar field.
  • Experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities and understanding of their unique health needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of health disparities and strategies to address them.
  • Experience with grant writing and securing funding for health and wellness initiatives.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
