About the role

The Manager, Sponsorship and NIL Sales will be responsible for generating incremental NIL and sponsorship revenue on behalf of Florida Gulf Coast University. This role will work on-site with administration and the Playfly Aspire sales team to pitch and close enterprise partnership agreements. Additionally, the role will assist in leading and managing a team of sales and services roles at the university.

Responsibilities

  • Aid in the development and execution of a dynamic sales plan to meet and exceed individual and overall property sales goals.
  • Identify potential sponsors for university sports properties through networking with university stakeholders and business partners, researching local, regional, and national companies.
  • Create sales presentations for new marketing partners by incorporating research, category dynamics, and an understanding of partner's marketing goals.
  • Manage key objectives, create proposals, and draft/negotiate contracts throughout the sales process.
  • Develop key marketing objectives with clients via thorough needs assessment and a collaborative sales process.
  • Entertain and cultivate sponsors in non-game related settings.
  • Represent the university sports property, the university, and Playfly Sports in a professional manner.
  • Research sports sponsorship industry and stay current with relevant market trends and conditions.
  • Serve as the liaison for NIL external engagement for the department with a focus on outbound engagement.
  • Collaborate with university athletics externally facing staff on external engagement initiatives.
  • Develop and execute an actionable CRM strategy.
  • Understand student-athlete interests and connect with external constituents and educate them on how they can engage with NIL opportunities.
  • Explore, research, and identify new opportunities for university athletics in the changing landscape of NIL.
  • Collaborate with Student-Athlete Development and Athletics Compliance with the development, presentation, and communication of new strategies, procedures, and processes.
  • Stay informed and up to date on the latest NIL trends and best practices.
  • Provide recommendations to leadership on opportunities and initiatives to continue to enhance NIL programming.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 3-4 years of direct sales experience in the sports multi-media environment required.
  • Some experience in a management, lead, or mentorship role preferred.
  • Proven success in hitting individual sales goals on a regular basis.
  • Familiarity with KORE or similar CRM system.
  • Experience with integrated and “conceptual” sales.
  • Ability to generate and present ideas and concepts succinctly and provide creative solutions to prospects/clients.
  • Outstanding communication skills.
  • Demonstrated professional sales presentation skills.

Benefits

  • Travel, Lifting, Physical Requirements: The work is sedentary in nature. Walking, standing, bending, and carrying of light office items is required. The work is typically performed in an adequately lighted and climate-controlled office environment. May require occasional travel.

Pay

Compensation is commensurate with experience.

The position is on-site in Fort Myers, Florida.
