- Define the engineering approach for both mobile and desktop, making foundational technology choices, architecture patterns, and development practices.
- Deliver CoCounsel Legal’s first mobile and desktop applications, collaborating with Product and Design to ship high-quality, accessible experiences.
- Integrate deeply with the CoCounsel backend, working with Agent Core and AI Platform teams to surface agent capabilities seamlessly.
- Own quality, performance, and reliability across both platforms, establishing standards for testing, CI/CD, and monitoring.
- Partner across the Application Experience pillar to ensure a coherent, consistent product experience.
- Represent mobile and desktop engineering perspectives in planning and prioritization discussions.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years leading or managing engineering teams.
- Hands-on experience shipping production mobile (iOS and/or Android) or desktop (Windows and/or macOS) applications.
- Understanding of mobile and desktop engineering challenges, including platform conventions, architecture, distribution, and performance.
- Proven ability to hire, develop, and retain strong engineers across multiple teams.
- Experience integrating applications with cloud backends and REST/GraphQL APIs, including streaming and authentication flows.
- Strong collaboration skills and clear communication abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with both mobile and desktop platforms, ideally shipped to production on each.
- Experience with cross-platform frameworks (e.g., React Native, Flutter, Electron, Tauri) and understanding of when to use them vs. native approaches.
- Background in legal tech, productivity software, or professional-services SaaS products.
- Familiarity with AI-powered features in native apps, such as streaming chat, voice input, and local context-aware actions.
