About the Opportunity
The Manager, Software Engineering leads a distributed engineering team across US and EU time zones, focusing on transitioning the platform's operational framework toward proactive ownership and engineering excellence. The role involves mentoring engineers, managing critical global infrastructure initiatives, and addressing complex multi-cloud challenges at scale. This position is integral in shaping the future of the core platform and supporting the team’s growth.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a high-performing engineering team across US and EU regions.
- Promote a shift from reactive delivery to proactive technical ownership.
- Manage global infrastructure expansions including FedRAMP High / IL4, India, and Australia.
- Guide architectural decisions around microservices, Go-based services, and large-scale cellular architectures.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Security, and Product teams to align roadmaps and ensure production reliability.
- Oversee production environments and manage high-severity incident responses.
- Advocate for robust GitOps and infrastructure-as-code practices.
Requirements
- 8+ years of software engineering experience with 2–4+ years in people management.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Proficiency in Golang including performance tuning and concurrency.
- Experience with Kubernetes and Docker for cloud-native microservices.
- Experience managing production environments and on-call rotations.
- Ability to work across distributed teams in US and EU time zones.
Bonus qualifications: Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP and compliance frameworks like FedRAMP High / IL4. Knowledge of Kafka, Helm, GitOps workflows, Terraform. Familiarity with AI tools and open standards like Model Context Protocol. Background in B2B SaaS or observability domain.
Pay
Estimated base pay range $186,000—$233,000 USD. Eligible for corporate bonus plan. Pay varies by work location and candidate qualifications.
