About the role

We're seeking a Manager, Software Engineering to lead a newly formed data engineering team at the center of the company's most critical, AI-driven initiatives. This team spans the company's core AMS platforms and powers the data engineering behind key products.

Responsibilities

  • Lead team of engineers driving data engineering standards and initiatives across the company's platforms
  • Drive high-visibility, cross-functional initiatives in close collaboration with Product, Architecture, and Engineering teams
  • Build and standardize data engineering best practices as part of a newly formed team, helping shape the discipline from the ground up
  • Provide hands-on technical guidance in SQL optimization, data modeling, and the GCP data/streaming stack, helping engineers work through cloud technical problem-solving
  • Champion the adoption of AI-assisted and agentic engineering workflows to drive team-wide productivity
  • Balance hands-on technical leadership with coaching, goal-setting, and other people-management responsibilities

Requirements

  • Can work remotely, with occasional in-person attendance for team meetings, offsites, and leadership events
  • Your experience should include some or all of the following:
    • Advanced SQL in cloud data warehousing platforms (BigQuery/Snowflake), including query optimization, partitioning, and data modeling
    • Hands-on experience with the GCP data and streaming stack: BigQuery, Dataflow/Apache Beam, Pub/Sub, Cloud SQL Postgres, and Redis
    • Experience leading and coaching engineering teams, balancing hands-on technical guidance with people leadership responsibilities
    • Strong software engineering practices, including SDLC, code review, source control, testing, and operations
    • A track record of driving adoption of AI-assisted or agentic engineering workflows
    • Advanced communication skills, with the ability to distill complex technical concepts for varied audiences
    • Familiarity with Python and Go alongside SQL
    • Familiarity with GKE, Terraform (CDK), and GitLab CI/CD
    • Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools such as DataDog

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Pay

Annual Salary Range $115,000 - $185,000
