About the role
The Position: Manage Shipping & Logistics Teams, including planning & import/export activities within Novo Nordisk's IFP Clayton facility with an emphasis on timeliness & accuracy, continual improvement & compliance to cGMPs.

Essential Functions
- Manage shipments of NN finished goods & bulk to NN affiliates & external customers
- Schedule outgoing shipments with couriers / transport companies
- Oversee international shipments, including import and export compliance activities
- Manage distribution related risks and develop mitigation plans
- Maintain & develop department procedures / SOP’s according to cGMP’s
- Develop / track internal metrics to measure department performance
- Manage implementation of corporate initiatives for the Shipping & Receiving area responsibilities
- Improve customers feedback through frequent communication with internal & external customers
- Implement PS Production System elements, through continuous improvements in accordance with the NNWay
- Coach & mentor direct reports including Shipping & Receiving Operators, & Logistic Specialists (personnel development, reviewing / evaluating / improving performance, etc.)
- Support Product transfers, new Product entries & Product launches to support market demand
- Implement LEAN in the shipping, receiving & logistic functions, show a LEAN mindset
- Follow all safety & environmental requirements in the performance of duties
- Other accountabilities, as assigned
Physical Requirements
- May move equipment &/or supplies weighing up to 33 pounds within the facility using various body positions
- May be required to be on your feet for up to a 12 hour shift
- May required corrected vision to 20/20 or 20/25 based on role
- May require colour vision based on role
- May require the ability to work in loud noise environments with hearing protections
Development of People
- Supervisory. Ensure that reporting personnel have individual development plans (IDP), with annual goals and measurements that are consistent with the priorities of the business, and that interim reviews are held so that their work is focused on those priorities, and they understand their level of accountability for results and the measurement process.
- Ensure that the IDP forms include completed learning and aspiration plans and are in place for all reporting personnel to enable the achievement of goals and capability to assume increased levels of responsibility.
- Manage the application and communication of all Novo Nordisk policies, procedures, and Novo Nordisk Way.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Business, or related field of study from an accredited university required or equivalent combination of education and experience
- May consider an associate’s degree in supply chain and/or Logistics or relevant field of study from an accredited university with seven (7) years of relevant supply chain experience required
- May consider a High School Diploma or equivalent with a minimum of nine (9) years of experience in progressive warehouse/production support (Supply Chain and/or Logistics)
