About the role

MEMPI’s Switchgear Division (SWGD) is seeking a dynamic and commercially savvy Sales Engineering Section Manager to lead the Sales Engineering team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Sales Engineering Operations: Direct Sales Engineering activities to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction, ensure technical and commercial commitments are met, and support the development and expansion of partnership customer agreements.
  • Develop & Mentor Your Team: Lead staff in accordance with Company policies; train and cross-train employees, facilitate continuing education, conduct performance reviews, and provide input for salary decisions.
  • Drive Competitive Bid Strategy: Oversee bid strategy development and approve pricing that supports division margin requirements while reflecting market competitiveness for high-voltage switchgear products and services.
  • Negotiate Customer Contracts: Lead negotiations for customer commercial contracts, ensuring favorable terms and alignment with HVSD objectives.
  • Communicate Section Activities: Prepare and deliver timely updates on Sales Engineering activities, progress, and priorities.
  • Represent HVSD Externally: Prepare marketing materials and participate in trade shows, seminars, customer visits, and MELCO facility engagements.
  • Support Business Planning: Assist in sales forecasting, budget development, staffing plans, and expense management.
  • Promote Division Excellence: Represent HVSD professionally through effective collaboration and communication with customers, internal departments, and MELCO partners.
  • Champion Quality, Safety & Environment: Maintain a strong understanding of MEPPI’s Quality, Safety, and Environmental policies and communicate their importance in daily operations.

Requirements

  • Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, minimum 5 years of experience in sales or sales engineering with an electrical manufacturing organization, minimum 3 years of management experience, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Technical Expertise: Advanced knowledge of electrical transmission products.
  • Skills & Attributes: Advanced analytical and problem-solving abilities, strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, strong negotiation experience with customer contracts, ability to lead teams and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, technology proficiency advanced computer skills with MS Office, experience with MRP/ERP systems.
