About the role
This position involves leading and supervising nursing and ancillary staff to ensure safe, high-quality, and patient-centered care. The manager creates a collaborative environment, coordinates daily unit activities, and works closely with physicians and leadership to optimize clinical operations and patient satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain a skilled, high-performing clinical team through recruitment, coaching, and personnel evaluations.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve patient safety, care quality, and staff engagement, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Conduct daily rounds with healthcare team members, oversee patient care activities, and address operational or care issues promptly.
- Manage staffing needs, create accurate schedules, and ensure adequate coverage, including overtime authorization when necessary.
- Facilitate patient throughput, coordinate admissions and transfers, and ensure a safe environment by maintaining equipment and facilities.
- Monitor clinical outcomes via audits and data analysis, and foster open communication to enhance satisfaction among patients, families, and staff.
- Conduct emergency preparedness reviews and ensure safety and compliance standards are met.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (required); Master’s preferred.
- At least five years of relevant clinical experience, with leadership experience preferred.
- Current RN licensure and certifications in BLS and ACLS required; specialty or administrative certifications are a plus.
- Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills, with the ability to manage personnel, coordinate care, and foster a positive team environment.
