Manager, Restructuring Tax Services
Description
A&M Restructuring Tax Services is a specialized team of tax professionals advising on non-routine tax matters in bankruptcy and out-of-court restructurings. Key responsibilities include:
- Advising on restructuring tax issues such as cancellation of debt income (CODI), significant debt modifications, consolidated attribute reduction, in-court vs. out-of-court restructuring arrangements, cash tax modeling, and section 382 limitations.
- Conducting thorough research and analysis on relevant tax and bankruptcy code sections and regulations.
- Preparing comprehensive summaries of financial information for both public and private companies.
- Building and maintaining robust financial models and management presentations.
- Supporting discussions with clients and their advisors.
- Engaging in business development initiatives to support the practice's growth.
Qualifications
- CPA, JD (with bachelor's degree in accounting, preferred), Masters in Taxation, or LLM.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in a mergers & acquisitions tax practice at a Big 4 firm, Big Law firm, or similar firm, and at least 2+ years of experience in restructuring tax.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to articulate complex information in a clear and concise manner.
- Ro robust analytical skills, with a knack for dissecting complex problems and formulating effective solutions.
- High proficiency in spreadsheets, with a demonstrated ability to manage and manipulate large data sets.
- Prioritized ability to manage work on multiple projects simultaneously, with a track record of meeting deadlines without compromising quality.
- Strong desire to learn and grow professionally, with a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Proven ability to train and mentor junior team members, fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment.
Benefits
Regular employees working 30 or more hours per week are entitled to participate in A&M’s fringe benefits, including healthcare plans, flexible spending and savings accounts, life, AD&D, and disability coverages. Additionally, employees are eligible for paid time off including vacation, personal days, seventy-two (72) hours of sick time (prorated for part time employees), ten federal holidays, one floating holiday, and parental leave. The salary range is $145,000 - $185,000 annually, dependent on several variables including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography.
