About the role
The Manager, Responsible Sourcing at Brooks is responsible for leading and advancing the company's global approach to responsible manufacturing across finished goods and materials. This includes overseeing programs in social compliance, remediation, worker voice, training, fair compensation, responsible purchasing practices, and supply chain traceability.
Responsibilities
- Own and lead execution and continuous improvement of responsible sourcing programs, processes, and systems, including social compliance, remediation, worker voice, training, fair compensation, responsible purchasing practices, and supply chain traceability.
- Partner with the Director, Corporate Responsibility to shape and evolve the responsible sourcing strategy and contribute to strategic planning by defining long-term priorities, initiatives, and roadmaps.
- Manage the successful execution of the responsible sourcing program by setting priorities, assigning responsibilities, translating organizational direction into actionable team goals and metrics, and holding team accountable for results.
- Lead, coach, mentor, and manage the Responsible Sourcing team, including performance management and career development, while building team capability and supporting an inclusive environment.
- Lead cross-functional engagement with leaders in Sourcing, Legal, and Trade Compliance to inform decisions, align priorities, and integrate responsible sourcing consideration into business strategies.
- Maintain the Brooks Supplier Code of Conduct and Responsible Sourcing Standards ensuring alignment with international and local labor standards and industry best practices.
- Design and deliver training programs for suppliers and internal teams to strengthen responsible sourcing knowledge and execution, including key topics such as forced labor prevention.
- Develop and implement a civil society organization engagement strategy, building effective partnerships that advance program goals and strengthen stakeholder collaboration.
- Lead external communications related to responsible sourcing program, including contributions to the annual Corporate Responsibility report, global website content, and responses to requests from retailers, associations, and other stakeholders.
- Report program progress, key risks, and recommendations to senior leadership.
- Manage relationships with third-party auditors and external industry groups, including the Fair Labor Association, American Apparel and Footwear (AAFA), and Cascale.
- Lead Brooks' participation in relevant industry forums, including AAFA Social Responsibility Committee and Forced Labor Working Group.
- Develop and implement promotional and marketing vendor compliance program, ensuring alignment with Brooks' Responsible Sourcing standards and Supplier Code of Conduct.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Responsibility, International Relations, Environmental Sciences, Sustainability, or related field; equivalent combination of education and years of experience can be considered in lieu of degree(s); Master’s degree preferred but not required
- 7+ years of experience in responsible supply chain or related role, preferably within the footwear and apparel industry
- 3+ years of management and/or leadership experience preferred
- Excellent understanding of social and environmental global supply chain issues
- Experience and knowledge in the Higg Index suite of tools and the Fair Labor Association preferred
- Demonstrated experience leading programs and influencing cross-functional stakeholders
- Proven ability to develop and execute strategic plans and translate strategy into action
- Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills
- Strong analytical skills and experience in collecting and evaluating complex data with the ability to translate into meaningful insights that can be clearly articulated to stakeholders
