About the role
The Manager reports directly to the Associate Director, attending to client-specific research to further the client’s understanding of the sports media trends and marketplace.
Responsibilities
- Identify, investigate, and visualize relevant viewership and consumption trends in the sports media marketplace, nationally and locally
- Manage custom databases for general agency use
- Design visualizations to convey data-driven insights supported with appropriate research
- Develop broad understanding of clients’ businesses and needs
- Proactively identify new projects and business opportunities with existing and prospective clients
- Works in direct cooperation with respective strategy, investment and property teams
- Manages junior staff (at any point 2-4 personnel) and is involved with evaluation of existing staff and consideration of potential employees
- Travel is occasionally required for presentations, meetings and other client or industry events
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree required
- 3-5 years of experience in sports media, sports analytics or similar field
- High level of proficiency/interest in data cleaning, management, and analysis
- Experience with data common to the media/marketing industry, i.e Nielsen, survey, etc.
- Experience with data cleaning patterns/tools (Power Query, SQL, etc.) and data visualization software (PowerBI, Tableau, Looker, etc.)
- Strong ability to effectively communicate insights via data analysis in both a written and verbal settings
- Expert in industry knowledge and understanding of sports marketing vernacular and trends
- Ability to work well under pressure and deliver assignments under deadline
- Ability to communicate with clients and internal strategy/investment teams effectively and intelligently
- Efficiency, organization, and ability to handle multiple tasks
- Strong interest in collegiate and professional sports
Pay
New York: $50,000.00-$95,000.00
Schedule
Omnicom’s policy requires employees to work in the office for a minimum of three days a week, unless additional in-office days are directed by their agency or manager. Our objective is to increase this requirement over time, and many of our agencies as well as Omnicom’s corporate group already require five days of in-office attendance.
