About the role
This position leads Magellan peer support programs and guides peer support specialists. It involves overseeing recovery support services, training, and removing barriers.
Responsibilities
- Develops and implements peer-run recovery services and training of peer support specialists.
- Researches and consults on administrative and reimbursement policies affecting peer-run services.
- Conducts member focus groups to improve service delivery and member satisfaction.
- Builds partnerships with individuals, families, youth, and key stakeholders to promote recovery and resiliency.
- Advocates for recovery-oriented and trauma-informed service delivery approaches.
- Supports, trains, and supervises peer support specialists.
- Works with leadership to transform provider networks towards recovery principles.
- Develops and implements culturally competent recovery-oriented programs and outreach to underserved populations.
- Participates in cross-departmental workgroups to ensure a recovery-oriented approach.
- Serves as Magellan’s key liaison to local mental health advocacy groups.
Requirements
- Self-identified person in recovery with 4+ years of living with mental health/substance use recovery.
- 3+ years of supervisory experience.
- Certified CPRS/CPS/CPSS/CRPS/PRSS, Peer Specialist.
- Must obtain NCPS/NCPRSS within one year of hire.
- Membership or leadership positions in peer support advocacy organizations, self-help organizations, associations, or technical assistance centers.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Product Suite.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills and effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team, prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of behavioral health and community systems, wellness strategies, resiliency, and recovery principles.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Public Health, or Social Work.
- Master's degree preferred.
