Responsibilities

  • Oversee, organize, staff, direct, and control the Department of Radiology within the medical center.
  • Supervise all administrative and technical service of this department, delegating appropriate responsibilities to supervisors and coordinators.
  • Achieve strategy targets set by VP, Network Radiology for the facility, and seek help when needed.
  • Plan, organize, direct and evaluate the activities of Radiology in accordance with corporate policies and procedures, applicable licensing regulations; TJC standards, and all applicable State and Federal regulations.
  • Ensure that all operating areas and staff are in keeping with regulatory agency requirements and facility policies and procedures relative to safety and security.
  • Implement the Radiology productivity measurement program, including action plans created by the VP, Network Radiology and Radiology Business Manager for performance improvement.
  • Maintain accountability for efficient and appropriate use of hospital resources.
  • Administer the effective allocation of capital and human resources at the facility, including the organization of the services, determination and control of appropriate staffing mix and levels, and management productivity.
  • Prepare monthly variance reconciliation reports with the network Radiology Business Manager.
  • Collaborate with VP, Network Radiology as well as facility and HMH network marketing, particularly for outpatient-based programs, to increase organic growth of services in local area.
  • Seek out and initiate solutions to problems, including barriers to implementation of network-level strategy at the facility.
  • Bring local insights and share best practices on growth and performance to the VP, Network Radiology via the Imaging Council or other suitable forums.
  • Accountable for decisions regarding hiring, performance evaluation, disciplinary actions, and termination of key subordinates within the facility Radiology department.
  • Accountable for the development of Radiology department staff and students through supervision, relevant formal and informal training, and other programs, with documentation of plans, results, and mutual feedback.
  • Oversee the annual needs assessment, and incorporate identified needs into development plans.
  • Complete new employee orientation checklist with each new employee within specified time frame.
  • Plans, directs, and actively participates in the education of hospital personnel, medical staff, community agencies, and consumers regarding all relevant imaging modalities (including Radiology, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound, and CT Scan services) and program availability through presentation of in-service programs and attendance at meetings.
  • Obtains approval from the relevant facility parties and VP, Network Radiology.
  • Serve as a member of relevant facility or network committees, as assigned.
  • Acquire and maintain competencies, certifications and continuing education in order to meet any facility accreditation or individual licensing requirements.
  • Represent HMH and the facility in community, state, and national programs/organizations pertinent to Radiology and related fields.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Minimum of 3 years of acute care supervisory experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient computer skills that may include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.
  • Master's (MA/MS/MSN/MBA/MPA) degree or similar (preferred).
  • Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience preferred.
  • Experience with EPIC HIS system preferred.
  • Current Radiologic Technology Certification by American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) or Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification from the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board or required licensing for any imaging department modalities.
