About the role
The Marvin Group is a Strategic Partner for Global Alternate Mission Equipment and Sustainment. Marvin Land Systems is a division of The Marvin Group, a leading defense contractor specializing in the design and manufacturing of military Alternate Mission Equipment, armament Test Equipment, and power and thermal management systems.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate activities of quality engineering personnel.
- Validate that the implementation of quality assurance measures meet all specifications required by the company and customers.
- Resolve customer complaints and concerns and actively participate in root cause and corrective actions as required.
- Provide engineering and technical support to operations ensuring consistent application of quality techniques.
- Resolve quality issues by identifying problems, examining solutions, implementing action plans, and providing resources.
- Effectively communicate and reinforce commitment to quality improvement efforts and champion the quality culture.
- Recommend changes to processes based upon findings and perform follow up to verify effectiveness.
- Provide training and development opportunities to ensure department personnel can obtain skills and knowledge necessary to successfully perform duties and responsibilities of job.
- Collaborate with customers, suppliers, contracts, sales, program management, purchasing, engineering, production, and quality personnel to determine product and process compliance.
- Support non-conforming material disposition.
- Support the MLS’s RMA process and its improvements.
- Prioritize department’s functions and responsibilities to support the on-time delivery and quality requirements.
- Spearhead MLS’s continuous process improvement initiatives and drive to successful execution.
- Analyse and manage relevant Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Perform technical and contractual reviews of contracts and purchase orders to ensure requirements flow down.
- Assemble and review end-item data packages/first articles prior to customer submission and shipments.
- Own and drive the MLS’s Quality Management Systems (QMS) as well as internal and external audit functions.
- Strong technical, manufacturing, industry and business knowledge, experience, and acumen.
- Absorb and perform hands-on responsibilities as assigned.
- Contribute in a team environment, be flexible, and volunteer support to meet team goals.
- Perform inspector and inspection activities as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Aerospace or related Engineering fields is required.
- Minimum of 10 years hands-on aerospace quality engineering/assurance experience.
- Minimum of 5 years management experience with proven track records.
- ASQ CQE, CQM, CQSSBB certification is highly preferred.
- Solid familiarity and comprehension of specifications and standards.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specification requirements, with a solid understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T), MIL standards and inspection techniques.
- Previous work experience in an organization that supplied OEM.
- Customer and supplier quality assurance experience, as well as ISO/AS9000 hands-on knowledge.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes including casting, welding, machining, sheet metal fabrication and metal finishing is highly preferred.
- Prior hands-on knowledge and experience of aerospace first article requirements based on AS9102 requirements.
- Strong knowledge and experience of aerospace configuration control process.
- ERP System experience specially SAP is a plus.
- Continuous process improvement and Lean/Six Sigma hands-on experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must have attention to details and be a self-starter.
- Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs.
Pay
SALARY RANGE: Base Salary Range (Inglewood only): $140,000 to $160,000. Salary is based on skills, experience, and education.
