About the Opportunity

The Manager, Quality Engineering leads a team responsible for advancing quality engineering practices within the engineering organization. This role ensures consistent execution of the quality strategy focused on risk-based exploratory testing and automation, providing guidance to teams to mature their quality mindset and deliver insights that influence product decisions.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coach Quality Engineers and Software Development Engineers in Test across multiple product teams.
• Enable consistent use of risk-based exploratory testing including charter creation and story-driven test design.
• Drive automation maturity through guidance on check lifecycle, suite curation, and ownership.
• Collaborate with product and engineering leaders to align quality activities with delivery goals and risk tolerance.
• Partner with automation architects, framework teams, and contract regression staff to sustain automation coverage.
• Establish workflow management practices including environment support, governance, compliance, and incident response.
• Communicate quality status through metrics, coverage mapping, and outcome-driven reporting.
• Mentor team members on technical and strategic skills related to quality engineering.
• Foster a culture of responsible testing, innovation, and collaboration.
• Promote responsible AI-assisted quality practices across the software development lifecycle.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in software quality.
• Strong knowledge of modern quality engineering practices including exploratory testing, automation, observability, and continuous delivery.
• Proven ability to coach and mentor engineers in mindset and technical skills.
• Experience driving cross-team alignment on quality strategy.
• Effective communication skills for diverse audiences.
• Familiarity with agile workflows, DevOps, and distributed teams.
• Preferred: experience scaling quality practices in large organizations.
• Preferred: knowledge of quality heuristics, test strategy models, and risk-based approaches.
• Preferred: hands-on experience with automation frameworks and observability tools.
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Preferred: experience in financial, corporate performance management, or enterprise SaaS environments.

Pay Range and Compensation Package

Gross annual base salary: USD 131,000-170,000. Additional variable compensation and benefits may apply based on experience, skills, and location.
