About the role
Lead a diverse team of quality engineers, PECR engineers, Mass Quality, and TQM engineers to ensure exceptional customer quality and process improvements. Oversee customer quality issues, PECR approvals, and internal process enhancements while driving quality standards and continuous improvement in collaboration with various departments.
Responsibilities
- Manage the operational and personnel activities of the assigned engineering area.
- Analyze workflow and provide input for process changes.
- Oversee and account for managing large volumes of annual repair and service revenue.
- Maintain relationships and interact with internal and external customers, suppliers, and affiliates to resolve daily operational issues.
- Make routine decisions affecting the area or department; seek advice from and provide input to senior management for higher-level issues.
- Participate in committee activities to improve overall work efficiency.
- Collaborate with senior management to develop goals, objectives, and measures aligned with organizational strategy.
- Develop short- and long-term plans for the engineering and repair groups, including expansion and infrastructure changes.
- Stay current with industry or functional trends and disseminate knowledge throughout the business.
- Mentor, coach, and lead subordinates by setting performance expectations, assessing training needs, and planning for goal attainment.
- Manage and mentor a team of quality, PECR, and TQM engineers, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
- Oversee customer quality issues, ensuring timely resolution and maintaining strong customer relationships.
- Guide engineers through PECR processes and customer approval procedures for change requests.
- Collaborate with internal production teams on Kaizen initiatives and quality improvement projects.
- Track and analyze KPI data to identify trends and areas for process optimization.
- Prepare and present quality reports and updates at monthly meetings, providing transparent insights.
- Implement and maintain quality management systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Foster a culture of quality awareness and ownership across the organization.
- Stay updated with industry best practices and emerging trends in quality engineering.
- Provide strategic direction and support to the engineering team, driving innovation and efficiency.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a quality engineering role, with at least 2 years in a managerial capacity.
- Proven track record in managing diverse engineering teams and delivering quality outcomes.
- Strong understanding of PECR processes and customer approval procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with stakeholders.
- Analytical mindset with proficiency in data analysis and interpretation.
- Familiarity with quality management systems and industry standards (e.g., ISO 9001).
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments and foster a team-oriented environment.
- Strong leadership skills, including mentoring and developing team members.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and relevant engineering software.

- Demonstrated leadership ability in an automotive or manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of engineering theories, processes, and terminology.
- Analytical skills to define procedures and apply sound judgment in decision-making.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, including presenting complex technical information.
- Excellent customer service and negotiation skills, with the ability to resolve sensitive situations.
- Advanced project management skills, including defining objectives, prioritizing tasks, and allocating resources.
- In-depth knowledge of engineering principles, especially in manufacturing and robotics.
- Knowledge of CAD or CAE principles and software.

Pay
Annual salary: $123,000 - $153,000.
