About the role
L3Harris is seeking a Quality Engineering Manager to lead quality planning and execution across assigned programs. This role requires cross-functional leadership knowledge and mastery level knowledge in AS9100 Quality Management, product and process verification and validation, continuous improvement, and quantitative methods of analysis.
Responsibilities
- Support site and business unit leaders through participation in site, program, and proposal activities.
- Lead quality planning and execution across assigned programs.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to integrate quality standards into program execution, drive continuous improvement, and ensure compliance throughout the product lifecycle.
- Drive continuous improvement and consistency across existing processes and operations.
- Manage budgets, influence program strategy, and monitor performance.
- Ensure required government oversight is successfully performed.
- Lead Quality Integrators across multiple programs, resolving technical and operational issues that may impact program execution.
- Ensure deliverables comply with customer, contractual, regulatory, and internal quality requirements.
- Ensure risks are effectively identified, documented, managed, and mitigated.
- Expand the Quality Engineering Integration capabilities of the group by developing organizational depth, mentoring and coaching team members, and fostering a culture of accountability, technical excellence, and continuous improvement.
- Define and implement strategic initiatives designed to drive long-term improvement to Quality metrics, including cost of poor quality and non-conformances.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years prior related Quality experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 7 years of prior related Quality experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related Quality experience.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with AS9100, ISO9001, or other quality management systems; proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications; experience in investigating technical issues and nonconformance’s to determine root causes and implement effective corrective actions, including familiarity with 8D analysis or similar tools.
- Communication Skills: Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Self-Starter: Ability to hit the ground running and make an immediate impact with minimal supervision.
- Deal with multiple tasks and deadlines set by management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Advanced business knowledge, general management, and leadership capabilities.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing quality assurance programs and systems.
- Relevant experience supporting the production of high-complexity aerospace products.
- Experience interfacing with US government agencies and/or aerospace prime customers.
- CQE and/or CSSBB certification.
- APQP and/or Zero Defect Planning experience.
- EVM and BOE experience.
- Proficient in MS Office, business analytics software such as Qlik and PowerBI, and tools like Microsoft Visio and Minitab.

Pay
The salary range for this role in California is $116,500 - $216,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
Schedule
Employees work 9 out of every 14 days – totaling 80 hours worked – and have every other Friday off.
