Manager, Quality
About the role
The Manager, Quality is responsible for leading and advancing the organization's quality management programs to ensure products consistently meet customer expectations, regulatory requirements, and company standards. This role develops and maintains quality systems, drives continuous improvement initiatives, and partners with cross-functional teams to improve product quality and operational performance.
Responsibilities
- Provides leadership and strategic direction for quality assurance and quality control activities across manufacturing operations.
- Develops, implements, and maintains quality management systems, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with internal standards and customer requirements.
- Monitors quality performance metrics, identifies improvement opportunities, and drives corrective and preventive actions to address quality concerns.
- Leads investigations into product and process nonconformances and facilitates root cause analysis efforts.
- Collaborates with engineering, production, supply chain, and customer-facing teams to improve product quality and customer satisfaction.
- Oversees internal and external audits and supports compliance with applicable industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Establishes quality objectives and measures progress against organizational goals.
- Promotes a culture of continuous improvement, quality awareness, and operational excellence throughout the organization.
- Hires, trains, coaches, counsels, and evaluates performance of direct reports.
Requirements
- Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Quality Management, Engineering, Industrial Technology, Manufacturing, or a related discipline.
- 5+ years of quality assurance experience in a manufacturing environment, including 2+ years of leadership experience, or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
Qualifications
- Preferred: Master’s degree in a related discipline.
- Professional certifications in quality management, continuous improvement, or quality systems are preferred.
- HVAC manufacturing experience preferred.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of quality management systems, auditing practices, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience with root cause analysis, corrective actions, and preventive action processes.
- Knowledge of industry quality standards, regulatory requirements, and compliance principles.
- Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and develop actionable recommendations.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and project management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and drive results in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency with standard business and quality management tools and systems.
Work Environment
Perform duties in both office and manufacturing environments. Regular exposure to production areas with moving mechanical parts and varying noise levels. Frequent interaction and collaboration with manufacturing, engineering, quality, and leadership teams. Compliance with all applicable safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment. May be exposed to temperature variations, dust, and other conditions commonly found in manufacturing facilities. Use of personal protective equipment as required when entering designated production areas. Occasional travel between company locations or customer and supplier sites may be required.
