About the role

Supermicro is looking for an experienced Manager, Quality Assurance to serve as the Component technology enabler for the company. In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure the robustness of the Component solutions in Supermicro's systems. You will partner closely with the Component vendors and collaboratively drive the component technology enabling process.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee and continuously improve manufacturing processes in production by monitoring production yields and driving quality improvement through root cause and failure analysis
  • Maintain and manage internal and external quality data for further analysis and process standardization
  • Develop, implement, and maintain standard procedures from a quality excellence perspective to ensure consistent and repeatable processes
  • Monitor the execution of corrective solutions and preventive mechanisms (CAPA) to ensure effectiveness and sustainability
  • Communicate directly with customers and cross-functional teams to provide timely and professional quality support
  • Conduct field site product quality control and collaborate with worldwide quality teams to integrate feedback and drive quality enhancements
  • Lead, manage, and supervise the B21/B38 quality team including QE and IPQC functions, to ensure stable and compliant product quality performance as well as overseeing QAQC attendance, staffing levels, and performance metrics to meet production demand and corporate quality requirements
  • Support ISO compliance activities and customer audits when needed to ensure adherence to quality requirements

Qualifications

  • BS or MS degree in Engineering, 5 years or more hands-on experience in manufacturing quality engineering or quality management in electronic, computer/server, and high-end computing industry
  • Strong technical knowledge of IQC, IPQC, and OQC inspection methodologies
  • Proficient in statistical process control (SPC), control charts, trend analysis and advanced experience with root cause analysis tools (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone, FMEA)
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, BOMs, and work instructions
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes such as assembly, test, packing and material flow as well as safety compliance, and material handling requirements
  • Familiar with quality system standards (ISO 9001/14001/13485 or equivalent) and audit requirements
  • Experience in driving corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) based on data and failure modes, familiar with supplier quality management and incoming inspection controls
  • Ability to define and deploy inspection criteria and sampling plans (AQL, risk-based sampling)
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, excellent communication and cross-functional coordination and ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
