Manager - Purchasing, New Product Development / Introduction
About the Role
This leadership position within the Global Procurement & Supply Chain (GPSC) function at JLG Industries, Inc. (Access Segment) oversees New Product Development / Introduction (NPD/NPI) purchasing. With over 20 active global programs at any given time, this role sits at the center of bringing new innovations to market, helping extend JLG's position as a premium, market-leading brand. The NPD/NPI GPSC team acts as the connection point between key internal stakeholders—such as Global Product Development Engineering, Product Management, Manufacturing/Operations, and Finance—and the Category Management/Strategic Sourcing team and their selected supply bases. This involves translating program requirements into clear direction while proactively surfacing risk to ensure programs deploy on time, on cost, and at quality. This leader also plays an equally important role in growing the people, culture, and systems and processes that make these cross-functional connections work, leading a high-performing, collaborative team of approximately nine North American team members with further dotted-line global leadership responsibility. Leveraging continuous improvement and thought leadership best practices, this role defines the next chapter of how NPD/NPI GPSC operates, positioning the function as one of the most trusted, connected groups across JLG and Oshkosh Corporation.

- Leadership & Talent Development: Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of approximately nine program-oriented GPSC professionals, fostering trust, ownership, and a strong, engaged team culture. Provide mentorship, set clear priorities, and cultivate a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement that spreads across the NPD/NPI GPSC organization. Drive positive employee engagement and retention using a People First mindset. Strengthen the team's project management capability to proactively identify, assess, and mitigate program risks. Complete Talent Spotlights, maintain succession plans, and define an individualized development plan for every team member. Benchmark, define, and implement an evolved NPD/NPI GPSC operating structure that strengthens execution, agility, and strategic input across all programs.
- New Product Development / Introduction Excellence: Own and drive program Key Process Parameters (KPPs), such as Time-to-RFQ, Time-to-Source, Gates-on-Time, and Cost-at-Gate, to deliver predictable, on-time, on-cost programs. Support delivery of next-generation platforms and regionalization initiatives, partnering closely with Engineering and Product Management throughout each phase gate. Partner with Category Management to integrate documented Category Strategies and align sourcing execution through Global Product Development, with proactive risk mitigation plans in place prior to deployment. Identify opportunities to secure meaningful Intellectual Property (IP) that strengthens JLG's first-mover advantage. Develop Category Engagement Playbooks with Category Management to enable earlier Prototype/Production source identification and improve mid-program agility. Embed Should-Cost reviews for early gate cost prediction and utilize throughout the program to support cost audits. Partner with Supplier Development on capacity assessments for critical suppliers, enforce New Business Hold controls, and leverage NPD/NPI Risk Management Dashboards to surface and resolve forecasted performance concerns.
- Enterprise Alignment: Serve as a key connector across Category Management, Supply Chain Solutions, Aftermarket GPSC, and Supplier Development, ensuring NPD/NPI programs benefit from aligned strategies and execution. Co-lead formation of a Supply Chain Solutions & NPD/NPI GPSC Collaboration Council to share best practices, improve alignment, and drive enhancement opportunities. Champion Continuous Improvement across NPD/NPI systems and processes, and proactively manage key systems and administrative processes with minimal production or schedule impact.
