About the role

Aecon delivers complex and impactful infrastructure projects—from transformative transportation networks to critical energy, industrial, and nuclear programs. This role supports Nuclear Generating Stations in the Detroit/Chicago/Toledo area, serving as a liaison between clients and a team of engineers and designers on plant modification packages.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary field liaison between the client and the engineering group.
  • Provide engineering management and guidance to subordinate staff, enforcing company and project policies.
  • Plan and manage work activities to ensure successful project execution while maintaining safety, quality, schedule, and budget adherence.
  • Demonstrate project leadership, often under the supervision of a Project Director.
  • Supervise and delegate tasks among staff.
  • Proactively identify potential project problems or opportunities, analyze issues, and develop optimal solutions.
  • Understand the scope of work and contract requirements for assigned responsibilities.
  • Support or conduct formal status reporting and presentations to clients and management.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of resources and capabilities of other groups for incorporation into project organization.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) License in any state with the ability to be licensed in other states by comity.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working in a nuclear plant.
  • Preferred: 3 years of experience in a leadership position.
  • Experience working in a project team environment.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize work in a multi-tasked environment.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain unescorted access at a nuclear power plant.
  • Field experience and walk-downs on power projects.
  • Preferred: Electrical and/or Instrumentation & Controls Engineering background.
  • Experience preparing Engineering Design Modification Packages for Nuclear Power Plants, including familiarity with Nuclear Standard Design Process (IP-ENG-01).
  • U.S. citizenship is required for access to nuclear facilities and information governed by U.S. federal regulations.

Pay

$150,000 - $200,000 per year.
