The Manager, Production Planning will work onsite at the Rochester, NY manufacturing facility and lead production planning activities across three Rochester sites. This role balances customer demand, manufacturing capacity, inventory objectives, and service requirements while partnering with Manufacturing, Materials Management, Procurement, Quality, Engineering, and Network Planning.

Responsibilities

  • Lead production planning activities across three Rochester manufacturing sites.
  • Manage and develop a team of production planners.
  • Establish standardized planning processes, tools, and metrics across all sites.
  • Translate demand forecasts into executable production plans.
  • Lead monthly supply reviews and support the S&OP process.
  • Develop short‑, mid‑, and long‑term capacity plans.
  • Identify production constraints and coordinate mitigation plans.
  • Oversee production schedules that optimize throughput and service levels.
  • Monitor schedule adherence and drive corrective actions.
  • Establish and monitor KPIs including schedule attainment, service levels, capacity utilization, planning accuracy, inventory health, and backorders.
  • Lead continuous improvement and ERP/planning system enhancements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years in production planning, supply planning, or manufacturing planning.
  • Multi‑site manufacturing planning leadership experience.
  • Strong understanding of S&OP, capacity planning, and master scheduling.
  • Experience with SAP and advanced analytics.
  • Preferred: APICS/ASCM CPIM or CSCP certification.
  • Preferred: Life sciences or chemicals manufacturing experience.
  • Preferred: SAP PP and supply chain planning module experience.

Work Environment

The work environment includes office, manufacturing, laboratory, and warehouse settings and involves handling viral and bacterial hazards, potentially hazardous chemicals, and infectious or potentially infectious bodily fluids, tissues, and samples. Up to 75% of time is spent at a desk, standing, or sitting for extended periods. Flexible work hours are available to meet project deadlines.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $102,360.00 to $133,000.00 and is bonus eligible.
