Title: Manager, Production Planning & Scheduling Hiring Organization: Connexion Systems & Engineering Compensation, Benefits, And Employment Type Duration: Permanent / Direct HirePay rate: $60,000–$90,000 annually, depending on experience and qualificationsJob Location: Bloomfield, CTWork Model: 100% onsite Schedule: Monday – Friday, 1st shift Job#: bh19528 Description We are seeking a Manager of Production Planning & Scheduling to lead and develop production planning activities for a growing aerospace and precision manufacturing organization in Bloomfield, CT. This is a key role responsible for developing production plans, managing schedules, coordinating cross-functional resources, and ensuring customer delivery commitments are met. The ideal candidate is an analytical and proactive manufacturing professional who enjoys solving problems, improving processes, and building more mature and effective planning systems. You'll work closely with Operations, Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, Logistics, and customers to ensure production plans align with business requirements, available resources, and customer demand. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain production plans and schedules aligned with business objectives and customer demand.Manage production schedules to optimize capacity, resources, materials, and delivery performance.Partner with Operations and Engineering to ensure successful execution of the overall production plan.Collaborate with Manufacturing, Procurement, Logistics, and other departments to identify and resolve production constraints.Work directly with customers and internal stakeholders to support on-time delivery (OTD) expectations.Monitor production progress and proactively adjust schedules to address changing priorities, resource constraints, or delays.Analyze production data, identify trends, forecast requirements, and recommend improvements.Develop planning tools, processes, and procedures to mature and strengthen the organization's production planning function.Identify bottlenecks and opportunities to improve production flow, capacity utilization, and scheduling effectiveness.Prepare and present production metrics, performance reports, forecasts, and recommendations to senior management.Promote continuous improvement across production planning and scheduling processes.Ensure planning and scheduling activities support applicable safety, quality, and operational requirements.Lead, develop, and support planning personnel while establishing clear expectations for performance and accountability. Qualifications 5+ years of experience in production planning and scheduling, preferably within a manufacturing environment.Experience in aerospace, automotive, precision manufacturing, or a similar complex manufacturing environment strongly preferred.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex production data and make sound decisions.Demonstrated ability to manage changing priorities and respond effectively to production challenges.Strong cross-functional communication and collaboration skills.Experience working with manufacturing, operations, engineering, procurement, and/or supply chain teams.Proficiency with production planning/scheduling software and Microsoft Office.Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including team development and performance management.Strong understanding of production planning, scheduling, capacity, and resource utilization.Epicor Manufacturing experience is a plus. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.Familiarity with ISO or other quality management system standards.Experience developing or improving production planning processes, tools, and workflows.Experience supporting aerospace programs or other highly regulated, customer-driven manufacturing environments.Demonstrated success improving on-time delivery, production efficiency, capacity utilization, or planning accuracy.
