Manager Production

About the role

The Manager Production is a first‑level manager who leads a team of employees supporting the Production function. Responsibilities include overseeing production planning, staffing, and day‑to‑day manufacturing operations in a cost‑effective manner, managing operational functions, prioritizing production, delivering on budget requirements, and achieving departmental goals with an emphasis on leadership and growth.

Responsibilities

• Plan production operations for locations, establishing priorities and sequences for products.
• Monitor priority lists and schedules to ensure orders are processed based on priority and customer promise dates are met.
• Prepare operational schedules and coordinate department activities to meet product specifications; monitor and report daily production output and operational status.
• Actively participate in process improvement, modifications, upgrades, and projects.
• Work closely with Maintenance and/or Engineering to plan and coordinate routine, preventative, and emergency maintenance, maximizing equipment availability and minimizing downtime.
• Develop and collaborate with other distribution process owners to efficiently reinspect priorities and conduct table reviews that minimize cost and maximize customer service.
• Handle employee relations, problem solving, goal setting, scheduling, disciplinary actions, terminations, and equipment issues.
• Partner with plant Safety and Quality teams to proactively identify issues, enhance programs and procedures, ensure conformance to standards, and provide appropriate training and equipment.
• Work with Manufacturing leadership to plan, develop, and control budgets, ensuring cost‑effective and efficient processes in the residential reinspect area.
• Participate in short‑term planning meetings and projects addressing labor, productivity changes, performance measures, goals and results.
• Research and apply technology to business processes, staying abreast of industry trends and competitors’ practices to improve efficiency, product quality and cost management.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
• 6–8 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 1–3 years of management experience.

Physical requirements

Must be able to walk long distances, stand for extended periods, stoop, kneel, crouch, and occasionally lift objects.

Work environment

Non‑climate‑controlled facilities and noisy, high‑traffic production areas.

Schedule

Flexible schedule may include evening and night shifts, weekends, and holidays.
